Submission Guidelines
How to submit a book proposal...
Native Sun Press does consider unsolicited manuscripts for publication. However, it is very rare for an unsolicited manuscript to be published. We strongly recommend submitting your work through a literary agent. A list of these can be found through the Literary Market Place. Please familiarize yourself with our market focus to determine whether your proposed book fits into our list. If you still wish to submit a project for consideration for publication, please send a complete book proposal consisting of:
- A cover letter describing the work as a whole, including any and all pertinent information about your project, your book genre, and why you chose to submit to us.
- A synopsis of the work.
- An annotated table of contents.
- The first three chapters to give us a sense of the scope of the project and your writing style. (Do not submit the whole manuscript.)
- A description of the target audience for your project.
- Information about related and/or competing titles.
- A self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient US postage for the return of your materials. Without postage, we will not return your materials.
We do not consider e-mail submissions.
Please allow eight to twelve weeks for a response. If you aren't sure how to best prepare your proposal or whether Native Sun Press is right for you, consult one of the many good reference books available at most libraries and bookstores.
Thank you for your interest in Native Sun Press.
